Dating to circa 1965, this David Webb necklace is composed of seven strands of fully faceted emerald beads arranged in a torsade. The strands are completed by a detachable 18K yellow gold clasp featuring a cushion-shaped rock crystal plaque centered by an oval cabochon emerald, with round brilliant-cut diamonds set above and below.

The clasp may be positioned at the front, back, or side when the necklace is worn. It may also be removed, allowing the emerald torsade to be worn independently or the clasp to be threaded onto a silk cord as a pendant. The diamonds are reported as F color and VVS2 clarity. The emeralds are described as medium, moderately strong, slightly yellowish green (slyG 4/4).
